Birds Of A Feather Sneak Peak

I have been in Eugene, Oregon, the track capital of the world, and
the home of the University of Oregon Ducks. Go Ducks!

So I've not been able to blog.
We just got home and it is 90 some degrees that translates to we are heading to the pool.
But I wanted to give you a sneak peak of what I have been working on. I'm making
bird magnets. I will give a tutorial and more photos tomorrow once I can sit down and breathe
.
Have a great Sunday.

We Took The Fruit Loop

Today we grabbed our camera's and left Portland to drive up The Gorge to Hood River, Oregon.
Hood River is reported to be the wind surfing capital of the world. And I can believe it. The wind never stopped blowing but the weather was beautiful and warm.

We had lunch at Full Sail Tasting Room and Pub. It was very good. Highly recommend it if you are ever in the area.

Lots O' Wind

After roaming around the cute little town we hopped in the car and headed off on the Fruit Loop.

This little drive winds through the country side. Past fruit stand after fruit stand. Winery after winery all the while in the shadow of Mt. Hood. The drive was beautiful. We had a great time stopping and taking photos. The boys loved taking their own camera's.

We can't wait to come back in the fall.

Mississippi Ave On Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day. I got to spend it with my Three J's. They took very good care of me. I felt like a queen. And the sun was shining brightly. Truly a magical day.

Once we got out of the house, we drove across the Dirty River, as I like to call it, to Mississippi Ave. to have breakfast at Gravy. Gravy is a slice of heaven. The food is out of this world and well worth the wait. The prices are incredible. Very affordable for such wonderful food.

Warning there is always a wait. A plus it that there is free coffee while you wait. Just step inside and grab a cup.

It was a hard decision but I had chunky red potatoes and eggs and flaky biscuits with gravy poured on top. I pigged out.

Joe had the best french toast I have ever tasted. Huge pieces of thick fluffy bread with a hint of cinnamon. Oh holy night! He made a good choice. Jack had fluffy buttermilk pancakes that were to die for and John had good Ole fashion oatmeal with berries. The oatmeal looked like a berry crisp. Yummy.

After we rolled ourselves out of there we meandered down the street gazing at flowers, and smiling in the sunshine. We strolled in and out of shops. I found a shop entirely devoted to light bulbs. The entire shop . . . light bulbs . . . some so old you would think Edison had made them personally.

Then we went into The Rebuilding Center and looked around trying to find cool items for our rustic backyard. This place has everything you do and don't want. Rusted bolts and nuts. Old keys and window panes. The boys loved it.

Finally, sad but true, we had to return to the West side of the Dirty River and reenter the burbs. But for a little bit we got to pretend we were trendy cool East Siders.

I Hit A Golf Ball At Pebble Beach Golf Course!

We are back!

And I quickly wanted to toss up some photos of our trip.

One of the many highlights of our trip was getting to take golf carts around Pebble Beach Golf Course with our friends. I felt so very privileged. This was so fun for us and our boys. We actually got to hit the golf ball on the most famous hole- #7.

When we walked back to the golf cart seagulls had taken our bags out of our cart and scattered them about looking for food. One of the bags had a giganto golf ball and we found it down the hill toward the sea cliff. My little boy would have been devastated if we would have lost it.

Close call.

Wow! What an experience.
Cheers to Eric, Lesley and RJ
You are wonderful.

Summer Day In Winter

Hi everyone!

Sorry I've been absent. It has been a whirlwind around here. We've had basketball tournaments, basketball games, baseball tryouts, and a quick trip to the beach.

And what a trip to the beach -Oh Holy Night!

It was t-shirt and shorts weather in early March. Sunny, warm, and windless, which is quite a treat when you are on the Oregon Coast this time of year.

But the best part was walking down to the bakery. If you live in the area this place is a must. I highly recommend the marionberry scone.

Cheers!
